From Island to Island Sagra: Art Exhibition, Aperitivo, Photo Session

Time: from 4 pm till 7 pm
Location: Landhaus on Vashon Island
A sagra [feminine noun of the adj. sagro], ancient variant of sacro is a popular festival, which takes place in a town or in a district and the like to celebrate an event, and above all a harvest, a product. This is an opportunity to gather and celebrate the materials, colors and flavors of the island at the peak of summer. Families and children are welcome to join.
Details of the event
4 pm
Welcome and introduction to the afternoon. Kristina, Abbie and Chiara will present the work they created during their residency at Landhaus. Their works will be available for sale throughout the evening.
5 pm - 7 pm
Explore the beautiful spaces of Landhaus: In the kitchen/bar Kyle will be preparing an aperitivo, while simultaneously, Chiara and Kristina will be leading an interactive felt-making demonstration using Vashon island wool & dye plants.
5 pm - 6 pm
The photo booth is open! Limited to 10 spots. $45/photo. Max two people in one photo. Abbie will develop on site aiming to have all photos developed by
6:30 pm.
Photos will be shot using a pinhole camera on direct positive paper, creating an instant photo (akin to Polaroid) and will be developed with foraged Vashon plants. Please note: pinhole photography is a lensless technique that requires longer exposures. Depending on availability of natural light, exposures may take anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes.
